Radloff park

Ok so this is truly a little gem!

Situated in the Helderberg Basin, surrounded by mountains. Wide open spaces, grass fields, tree shaded paths and the Lourensford river flowing through!

This was an absolute delight to visit, its peaceful, quiet and a place to connect with Nature.

The walk itself through the park isn't long distance wise, its about 2.5km but has so many nooks and secret tunnels leading to the waters edge. The kids can play quite safely at the banks of the river, whilst us as parents simply take in the natural beauty.

Granted we went a little to late to spend the whole day there, I cannot wait to go back, load up the car with a picnic and let the kids enjoy the river. I actually spotted a fish in the river, which got us somewhat excited! (There have been trout caught in the Lourensford River - note to self take a rod with next time)

For those of you with 4legged fur babies, this will be a dream as you can take them with and they can run free. There were tons of doggies around, so much so the its locally called the Radloff Dog Park.

disclaimer: If you intend taking your dogs to Radloff Park, they should be trained and well adjusted to other dogs and humans, and obey you when they are called.

My kids enjoyed watching a pack of dogs chasing after a ball in the river splashing about.

I would highly recommend popping by the local Skate Park and let the kids ride, parents having shaded seating.

R30 per person per day (this support goes straight to the skatepark supervisor on the day)

Gps Co-ords: WVC9+JP Somerset West, Cape Town (put this code into Google Maps for direction)

Making even better is iShushu wood fired pizza foodtruck is parked there. The pizza is superb with Gluten free/Vegan/Banting Options and build your own pizza Base.
